Red Deer, February 10, 2017 – 211 Alberta, the province’s go-to number to connect to community, social and government services, has released its 2016 caller statistics. The numbers show that more than 88,000 calls for non-emergency help were answered by 211 across the province last year. Read More

May 14, 2014 – United Way of Central Alberta and CAPRA (Central Alberta Poverty Reduction Alliance) have partnered to present Central Alberta’s first poverty simulation event. The event was designed to bring awareness to corporate leaders and influencers in the community about the everyday challenges faced by people who live in poverty and low-income situations. May 8, 2014 – United Way announced an investment of $1,796,601 across Central Alberta that includes funding to 48 programs. This is an increase of 6.2% over last year and made possible because of the generous donations through workplace campaigns, private donations, and fundraising events across the region. 600 superheroes turn NOVA Chemicals 2014 workplace campaign into another record-breaker!
This year NOVA Chemicals set another record-breaking campaign total of $ 701,246.95, and still growing! Their campaign yielded nearly 600 superheroes participating at various levels including 143 employees and retirees who gave at the $1,000 and up level, another increase over last year’s 131.
