COMMUNITY

building strong and healthy communities

An unexpected crisis can impact anyone, anytime.

The Issue

9 %
of albertans

were unemployed placing emotional strain on people throughout Central Alberta.

13896
Albertans

were victims of violence with an intimate partner.

27630
Central Albertans

have some form of disability.

Well-being fluctuates throughout life.

There are countless stressful life experiences that may lead an individual or family to seek support, such as being a victim of violence.

We have made three-year grants available to enable more stability for programs.

We improve access to short term intervention or counselling services that help people build resiliency in their lives.

We increase access to services and support partnerships and collaborations that support independent living.

We are a partner to build community awareness on the importance of living independently.

We have spoken up about the importance of taking care of our mental well-being through our newsletter, social media and participation in the Bell Lets’ Talk day.

We partner with 16 programs to support 9,360 individuals on a path to live more independently. Through our investments we are improving access to essential programs for individuals who could not otherwise afford them.
