12th Annual United Way Central Alberta’s Whisky Classic presented by Warren Sinclair LLP
On Thursday, November 16, 2023, the United Way of Central Alberta (UWCA) hosted their 12th Annual Whisky Classic fundraising event. Since 2010, this event has grown into one of Central Alberta’s premier networking and whisky tasting events.
With over 200 attendees at the sold-out event hosted at Holiday Inn & Suites South, the United Way Whisky Classic presented by Warren Sinclair LLP is an important part of United Way Central Alberta’s yearly fundraising campaign.
“It’s been another record-breaking year for the Whisky Classic, we are so pleased to share that this year the event raised over $88,000, accumulating to over $473,000 since its inception!” said Chelsea O’Donoghue, CEO of United Way of Central Alberta. “As a United Way, we bring together people and organizations in the private, public and social sectors across Central Alberta to meet community needs and tackle complex social issues. The growing success of our annual Whisky Classic is a great example of how we bridge those connections, create networking opportunities and raise money to help fund vital social service programming in Central Alberta.”
Funds raised this year will make a significant positive impact throughout our communities and support UWCA in addressing focus areas of ensuring access to basic needs, increasing access to suitable mental health services, and creating brighter futures with new possibilities. UWCA sends thanks and gratitude to all event attendees, sponsors, volunteers and tasting vendors.
“This unique and intriguing event just gets better every year. We spotlight quality whisky distilled across the globe and close to home. The whole experience is geared towards true enthusiasts and whisky-curious folks alike who have a desire to learn more about Whisky, meet new people and raise funds for United Way.” -Lars Rogers, Event Founder & UW Volunteer
Thank you to all our volunteers and Community Partners who help make this event possible!
