Period Promise

Periods are a fact of life. Period products are a basic human need.

Many Central Albertans are struggling to afford menstrual products for themselves and their families, with the rising cost of living being just one of many barriers. Not having access to period products – or what we call ‘period poverty‘ – limits one’s ability to participate in community, including work and school. This has significant impacts their physical & mental health and overall quality of life. You can help.

Providing barrier-free access to menstrual products for all people.

Local response to a global issue

The Period Promise Pilot Project by United Way and the Soroptimist International Central Alberta is a local response to a global issue. We can reduce the isolation created by period poverty, in our own neighbourhoods.

More than a product drive

Our mission is to provide barrier-free access to menstrual products for all humans. To destigmatize menstruation and work towards helping more people get access to the products they count on with the dignity they deserve.
