Why Don’t You See Me? The True Face of Homelessness
Learn more about the links between poverty and homelessness in Red Deer with a Documentary Viewing, Poverty Simulator, + Debrief. All are welcome. We live in one of the most prosperous regions in North America. Still, more than 9,500 people in Red Deer live in poverty – 2,585 of them are children. Throughout Central Alberta, there are thousands of more individuals and families living with a low or limited income. With the rising cost of living, this means many people are at risk of losing their housing.

Poverty Simulator – Town of Sylvan Lake
The Town of Sylvan Lake and FCSS invite you and your staff to participate in a poverty simulation led by The United Way Central Alberta. Poverty is a reality right here in our own back yard. Gain an understanding of what it’s like to live month-to-month, and have conversations about what our community can do about it.
